Allen A. “Hoag” Markle, 63, of East Brady, died Monday morning, June 27, 2016 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler. Born on December 18, 1952 in Brookville, he was a son of Kenneth W. and Buena L. (Yarger) Markle. He was married to Linda K. (Miller) and she preceded him in death on October 10, 2012.

Hoag worked as a welder in construction at Disney World and Cape Canaveral in Florida. He also worked in the steel mills. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Florida where he was involved in music ministry with his wife.

He enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved music including playing guitar and singing. He enjoyed kayaking, fishing, riding his Harley, and he loved his dogs.

Hoag is survived by four children, Terri Douglas and husband, Dean of Karns City, Rev. Barry Markle and his wife, Michelle of Franklin, Penny Detrie and husband, Steve of Florida, and Timothy Heckman and his wife, Colleen of Lincoln University, ten grandchildren, Roy A. Beham (Karissa J.), Troy S. Beham (Emily R. ), Alexandra P. Wolfe, Matthew L. Collar, Austin E. Markle, Michaella G. Markle, Steven Detrie, Jr., Kailee Detrie, Olivia Heckman, Nicholas Heckman, four great grandchildren, Skyler N. Beham, Maddox M. Beham, Paisley J. Beham, and Conner J. Traister, two sisters, ,Kay Boddorf and her husband, Gary of Oak Ridge, and Shelly McGuire and her husband, Barry of Florida, two brothers, Ray Markle of Polk, and Bob Markle and his wife, Lou Ann of Oak Ridge, and a sister-in-law, Rosie Markle of Cochranton.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife, Linda, a daughter, Carma Sue Songer, a brother, Melvin Markle, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Markle.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 30, 2016, from 4 – 8 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Carl DeBacco officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mahoning Township, Armstrong County.
