Harold L. Ferringer, 88, of Mayport, died Friday afternoon, January 23, 2015 at the Brookville Hospital. Born April 8, 1926 in Redbank Township, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Boyd A. and Naomi Ruth (Smith) Ferringer. He married Rita Ruthann (Nolf) on July 28, 1978, and she survives.

Harold served his country during WWII with the United States Army in Switzerland and Austria. He worked for Crawford Furniture. He attended the Oakland Church of God in Distant. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by four daughters, Alice Lawrence of Ellwood City; Diane Ferringer and Don Keener of Fairmount City; Christy Boddorf and husband Timothy of Gulf Breeze, Fl. and Rhonda Hook and husband Dana of New Bethlehem, a son, Richard Paul Brocious, Jr. and wife Diane of Fairmount City, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a special nephew, Don Elslager of Limestone, and four faithful companions, Pumpkin, Polly, Pixsy and Pippin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray Ferringer, Harry Ferringer, Boyd Ferringer, Jr. and his twin brother, Howard “Mike” Ferringer, half sisters, Hilda Elslager and Sylvia Kifer and a daughter, Rayna Brocious Muns.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jimmy Swogger officiating. Immediately following the service, the Walter W. Craig Post 354 American Legion of New Bethlehem will honor their fallen comrade. Interment will be in the Shannondale Union Cemetery, Redbank Township, Clarion County.
