MaryAnn Kriebel, 85, of Brookville, died early Friday morning, May 26, 2017, at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Born on April 28, 1932 in Sligo, she was the daughter of the late Harold Benton and Kathryn Pearl (Shaffer) Hartman. She was married first to Ernest M. Rhoads and then James C. Simpson, they both preceded her in death. She then married Joseph L. Kriebel on October 20, 2000.

MaryAnn graduated from Sligo High School. She worked as a waitress at the Holiday Inn and Tony’s Lil Roma in Brookville for 32 years. She was an outstanding baker and she baked for several local businesses including Michelle’s Café of Clarion and Gateway Lodge of Cook Forest. She won several first place ribbons at the Clarion County Fair (Blue Ribbon Apple Pie Contest).She also entered her winning apple pie at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg. She loved planting and caring for flowers especially roses and enjoyed shopping and cooking holiday meals for her family. Her annual 4th of July family reunion picnic was an event that she enjoyed hosting each year. She was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed feeding and caring for her little birds.

MaryAnn is survived by her husband, Joseph L. Kriebel of Brookville, a daughter, Connie L. Shreckengost and her husband, Steve of Strattanville, a son, Gary E. Rhoads and his wife, D’Ett of Fairmount City (Frogtown), five grandchildren, Chad Shreckengost and his wife, Cari of Pittsburgh, Tyson Shreckengost of Charleston, SC, Katie Rohrer and her husband, Brian of Pittsburgh, Kyle Rhoads of Pittsburgh, and Ginnelle Hunsberger and her husband, Colby of Fairmount City (Frogtown), two great grandchildren, Ian Walter Rohrer and Alexander Phillip Hunsberger, and three sisters, Jane Allen and her husband, Jim of Franklin, Judy Curll and her husband, Vaughn of Clarion, and Margie Henry and her husband, Randy of Clarion. She is also survived by a step son, Joey Kriebel and his wife, Kerry and a step daughter, Tammy Hilliard and her husband, Joe and their families.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was also preceded in death by a niece, Kelly Salvo Morey, a nephew, Rich Reichart, and a step grandson, Aaron Hilliard.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 am with viewing from 10 -11 at the First Church of God in New Bethlehem, 418 Brian Lane, New Bethlehem, Pa. 16242, with Pastor John Phillips officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Frogtown.
