Rev. Gerald W. Michel

Rev. Gerald W. Michel went to his glorious heavenly home on February 24, 2015 at 2:00 am. Born on August 6, 1933 in Niagara Falls, New York, he was the son of the late Herbert L. and Elizabeth (Trotter) Michel.

He was a Methodist Minister in the Western Pennsylvania United Methodist Conference.

He is survived by his wife Barbara D. (Dovenspike) Michel, a daughter, Loni Lynn Atts and her husband James; a son, Christopher Paul Michel and his wife Keli, four grandchildren; Tiffany Atts; Trisha Atts; Elizabeth Paige Michel and Jonathan Michel, and one great grandson, Leighton Jon Michel. Gerald is also survived by one brother, Charles Michel and his wife Jessie. He had two nephews, James Michel and wife Anne and Charles Michel and wife Kathy; one grandniece, Jessie E. Jesson and husband Jeff. They have one son, Andrew. Then, he has one brother-in-law, Rev. Keith Dovenspike and wife Kathy, their two sons, Eric and Hans and his wife Tricia and their two children, Aaron and Emma.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Yvonne Michel

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be on Friday, February 27, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hawthorn Calvary United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Dovenspike officiating. Interment will be in the Hawthorn Cemetery.
