Michael S. “Ardo” Schreckengost, 70, of Fairmount City died on Thursday evening, April 2, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital. Born on February 16, 1956, in Kittanning, he was the son of the late Ardo C. and Helen (Shreckengost) Schreckengost. Ardo worked as a truck driver for many local companies, including McCauley Trucking, Master Carrier, and Rosebud. He attended the Oakland Church of God in Distant. He enjoyed drag racing, his dog, Willie, and playing guitar in a band called “Home Grown”. He was married on February 21, 1987, to Debra L. (Darr) Schreckengost and she survives. He is also survived by four children, Keith (Becky) Darr of Emporium, Lisa (Jesse) Pence of Clarion, Pam (Todd) Dinger of Distant, and Lisa (Matt) Willison of Oak Ridge, twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren with one on the way, and a sister, Donna Rosenberger of DuBois. A Celebration of Life serviced will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 12 noon to 1:00 pm at the Oakland Church of God. The memorial service will be at 1:00 pm at the church with Pastor Jimmy Swogger officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.alcornfuneralhome.com.
