Robert J. Bish, 80, of Fairmount City, died on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital. Born on November 12, 1943, in Brookville, he was the son of the late Clyde I. and Betty E. (Wolfgang) Bish. He worked as a carpenter building cabinets and for Commodore Homes until his retirement. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, going camping, and tinkering in his woodshop. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and family. He was married on May 8, 1971, to Flora E. (Walter) Bish and she survives. He is also survived by two children, Robin Wingard and her husband, Brad of Cranberry Township and James I. Bish and his fiancée, Melissa Hannold of Erie, two grandchildren, Sarah Wingard and Brandon Wingard, a sister, Barbara Kovacs of South Carolina, a brother, Richard Bish and his wife, Christy of Oak Ridge, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Gerald Shobert, John Shobert, and William Shobert. Visitation will be on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 4 to 7 and Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 10 to 11 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Shaffer officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
