Polly (Leshock) Bailey, 82, of Distant, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Clarion Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She passed from a life of pain, into the joyful arms of Jesus She was born March 22, 1942, to Joseph E. and Grace L. (Hockenberry) Leshock in Distant. Polly was intelligent. She was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Redbank Valley High School. She then went on to graduate early from Clarion State College with a double major in mathematics education and speech language pathology. Polly taught briefly at North Clarion and AC Valley Schools before starting her family. Polly enjoyed making any and every type of craft. She especially enjoyed needlepoint work, flower arranging, and paper crafts, including sending handmade cards to family and friends. Her favorite things were shopping, coffee ice cream, listening to Charles Stanley’s sermons and celebrating Christmas Eve with her family. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Leah Millis (Dan), of Fairmont City, Karen Hazlett (Mark) of Clarion, five grandchildren, David Millis (Adrienne), Joshua Millis (Amanda), Rachel Millis, Hope Hazlett (Austin Weaver) and Hannah Hazlett. She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Petra Grace Millis, Mara Polly Millis, Noah Allen Millis, and an Aunt Jean Evans, of Distant. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Sally Tremba, who passed in January 2024.
