William E. “Bill” Hollobaugh, Jr., 85, of Hawthorn, died Saturday afternoon, March 14, 2015 at the VNA Extended Care Home in Shippenville. Born on March 19, 1929 in Hawthorn, he was the son of the late William E and Dorothy Mae (Holibaugh) Hollobaugh. On April 22, 1949, he married Dorothy P. (Repoff).

Bill worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He served his country during the Korean War with the United States Army. He was a member the Walter W. Craig Post 354 American Legion of New Bethlehem, the New Bethlehem Lodge 522 F & AM, and the Hawthorn Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by his wife of almost 66 years, Dorothy Hollobaugh of Hawthorn, a son, Dennis J. Hollobaugh and wife Patricia of Yorktown, Virginia, a daughter, Kathy L. Edwards and husband Wendell of Hawthorn, four grandchildren, Kelly Edwards, Tim Edwards, Melissa Hollobaugh and Heath Hollobaugh, six great grandchildren, Carter, Cason, Berlin, Timothy James, Lexis and Haley, and a brother, Robert Hollobaugh of Oil City.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty, and three brothers, John, Artie and Cliff.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Evans VNA Clarion Forest Hospice Chaplain officiating. Immediately following the funeral service the Walter W. Craig Post 354 American Legion of New Bethlehem will honor their fallen comrade.

Interment will be in the Hawthorn Cemetery.
