Frances M. Kennedy (Hinderliter)

Frances M. “Sally” Kennedy, age 91, of Mayport, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the Brookville Hospital.

She was born August 16, 1934, to Delmar and Mabel (Boozer) Hinderliter in Mayport.

Frances worked at Shaffer’s Pizza, making pizza, potato salad, and macaroni salad and enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her two sons, John P. and wife Colleen, Brian L. and wife Gaylene, all of Mayport; five grandchildren, Evan Kennedy and John Sweppenhiser, Tyson Kennedy and wife, Emily, Erica and Brad Kennedy, and Shaylee Raybuck and husband Robert; two step-grandchildren, Jamie Kunselman and Shannon Kunselman; eight great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Frances is also survived by two sisters, Audrey Sue DeFoor and Kaye Brestovich; a daughter-in-law, Helen Kennedy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward L. Kennedy, in 2022, a son Russel Kennedy, and sister, Peggy Stear.

The Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Services were private for the family and interment took place at North Freedom United Methodist Cemetery in Mayport.
