Lois J. Kemp (Gould)

Lois J. Kemp, 101, of Hawthorn passed away June 17, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

Lois was born on January 21, 1925, in Widnoon a daughter of the late John and Nellie Gould.

She was first married to James Stewart, and he preceded her in death in 1967 she then married Kenneth J. Kemp on November 29, 1969, and he preceded her in death on March 13, 2015.

Lois worked as a librarian for the Rimersburg and Sligo Elementary Schools and was a secretary for the Hawthorn Water Authority.  She enjoyed bowling in the women’s area bowling league.

She is survived by two children, James K. Kemp and his wife, Carla, of Brookville, and Linda Kiehl and her husband, Bill, of New Bethlehem, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Martha Gould of Florida.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Peggy Senior officiating.

Interment will take place in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
