Obituaries » Arleigh Clayton Brothers January 15, 1944 - January 14, 2026 Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Arleigh Clayton Brothers, 81, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 14, 2026, at Clarion Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born on January 15, 1944, in Shippenville, he was the son of the late William and Betty Jane (Grove) Brothers. Clayton worked as a welder at Trail King as an aluminum welder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and after retiring he enjoyed mowing grass and riding his four-wheeler. He also loved watching old John Wayne movies. Clayton joined the USN right after high school and served on the USA AULT 698 for three yrs. He was stationed his last two years in Jacksonville, Florida. There he met his wife Kathy S. (Elder) and after his release from active duty they married on June. 12 1965 and moved to New Bethlehem Pa. They were married 61 1/2 years. She survives. He is also survived by three sons; William “Stoney” Brothers and his wife, Dianna, of New Bethlehem, Dustin Brothers and his wife, Kelly, of Burgettstown, and Jared Brothers and his wife, Jennifer, of Punxsutawney, seven grandchildren; Johnathan, Katelyn, Storm, Nora, Nicholas, Morgan, and David, six great grandchildren; Blake, Lawson, Gideon, Ella, Lily, and Layla, two brothers; Raymond Brothers of Fairmount City and Tom Brothers and his wife, Brenda, of Mayport, and a sister, Cynthia Gross of Meadville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant twins. At his request, there will be no services at this time. The Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn is handling the arrangements.
