Carl C Shick, 88, of New Bethlehem, passed away peacefully at UPMC Northwest on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Born April 27, 1936, in New Salem, to Alvy C. and Sadie Luella (Dinger) Shick Sr. He married Connie Lee Bish on August 25, 1961. She preceded him in death on September 9, 2013.

Carl was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he was employed by the United States Government working for the CIA. Carl was very active in the New Bethlehem community where he spent 40+ years as a member of the First Baptist Church. Later he enjoyed the fellowship and friends at the Grace Baptist Church. He also enjoyed his time spent managing and working with so many Little League players over the years. Carl was also very involved with the American Legion in New Bethlehem.

Carl is survived by a daughter, Julie Jobe of Lemont; a son, Marc Shick and his wife, Brenda of Kennerdell; a sister, Judy Helper and her husband, Wray of New Bethlehem; a brother, John Shick of Marion Center; and special friend, Janet Shumaker of New Bethlehem. His grandchildren include Coral Metcalf and her husband Justin, of Harrisville; Kelci McLallen and her husband, Josh of Stoneboro; Carli Brydon and her husband, PJ of Harrisville; Brandon Shick and his wife, Brooke, of Emlenton and Nate Jobe of Lemont. Great- grandchildren include Zack Brydon, Sydney McLallen, Eric McLallen, Harson Metcalf, Brantley Metcalf, Mackenzie McLallen, Sophia Brydon and Luca Brydon.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by five brothers James Shick, Edward Shick, Wallace Shick, Alvy C Shick Jr. and Fred Shick and three sisters, Della Harman, Bernice Crawford, and Betty Barrett.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11:00 am with Pastor Bob Ryver officiating.

All services will take place at Alcorn Funeral Home.
