A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church.

It is with great sadness that the family of Charles E. (Chuck) Evans announces his passing on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the age of 86.

He was born February 29, 1932 in Oak Ridge and was the son of Alberta (Adams) and Roy Evans.

Chuck enjoyed life, family, and many friends. He was always there to brighten the lives of others. He also enjoyed traveling.

Chuck had a life-long commitment to the education of children as is evidenced in his 42-year career as a teacher and principal in the Redbank Valley School District.

Lastly, Chuck was a person of faith and a life-long member of the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir.

 

Chuck will be lovingly remembered by his sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Bruce Evans, his sisters-in-law, Peggy Evans and Sally Evans, and his nieces and nephews, Kathy and Randy Otte, Dawn Clouse, Lori and Jack Gareis, Susan and Larry Bauer, and Stacey and Randy Dinger.

Chuck will also be fondly remembered by his great-nieces and nephews, Evanne Gareis, Kaitlin and Adam Myers, Andrea and Kate Gardner, Nicholas Steighner, and Samantha and Brody Toy as well as a great-great-niece, India.

Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Alberta Evans, and two brothers, Don and Roy (Pete) Evans.

A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Oak Ridge UMC with the Rev. Dr. Jack Gareis and Rev. Mike Shaffer co-officiating.

Interment will be at the Mount Zion Cemetery (Armstrong County).

Memorial donations in memory of him can be made to the Oak Ridge UMC.
