Obituaries

Doris L. Hopper, 93, of Templeton (Kellersburg), died Saturday morning, April 27, 2024, at Quality Life Services Sugar Creek SNF in Worthington. Born on May 31, 1930, in Deanville, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Lena A. (Steggers) Keener.

She married Fred L. Hopper on March 6, 1953, and he preceded her in death on September 3, 1991.

Doris was a member of the Oakland Church of God in Distant.

She is survived by three children, Dick Eugene Hopper and his wife, Terry, of Templeton, Danny T. Hopper and his wife, Lisa, of New Bethlehem, and Debra Barrett and her husband, Jerry, of Templeton, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and a sister, Esther Matas of Johnstown.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Elmo Welsh, Opal Minich, and Martha Vaugh, and six brothers, an infant, Delbert, Melvin, Clarence, Howard, and Paul Keener.

At Doris’s request, there will be no services.

Interment will take place in the Kellersburg Methodist Cemetery.
