Visitation will be held on Monday evening, June 1, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Additional viewing will be held on June 2, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m.  at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Terri Frutiger-Wells officiating.

Edith Mae Shick, 83, of New Bethlehem passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 4, 1942, in Garner Kentucky, a daughter of the late Kell and Ethel (Hall) Combs.

She married Donald B. Shick on July 15, 1963, he survives.

Edith worked as a nurse’s aide at the Melody Manor in Kittanning and was a member of the Distant Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Shick of New Bethlehem, three children, Robert Shick (Claire Brown) of Kittanning, Teresa Shilling and her husband, Jeff, of Distant, Kelly Shick and his wife, Wendy, of Mayport, six grandchildren, Jeff (Tiff) Shilling, Lynsey (Levi) Miller, Zach Shilling, Robin (Chris) Bowser, Kelly (Maddie Shirey) Shick, T.J.  (Chelsie) Shick, ten great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Ray Combs and Robert Combs, both of Dunkirk, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Carlos Combs, Edwin Combs, French Combs, Walter Combs, Shirley Combs and Judy Hensly.

Visitation will be held on Monday evening, June 1, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Additional viewing will be held on June 2, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m.  at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Terri Frutiger-Wells officiating.

Interment will take place at the Copenhaver Crossroads Cemetery in Dayton, PA., Armstrong County.
