Obituaries

Leslie Mark Smith, 61, of New Bethlehem, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2025, at his residence.

Born on August 4, 1963, in Clarion, he was the son of the late Charles Vern and Phyllis Dean (Snyder) Smith.

He worked for McCauley’s Service Station, Clarion Bath Works, and Shirey Lumber. He belonged to the Moose, VFW, and Eagles in New Bethlehem. He enjoyed fishing and sitting outside the High-Rise watching people go by.

He is survived by two brothers, Dennis Smith and David Smith and his wife, Betsy, all of Mayport, two sisters, Marilyn Zuranik of New Bethlehem and Debra Heim and her husband, Mike, of Middletown, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Smith, four sisters, Verna Smith, Emily Smith, Linda Smith, and Susan Smith, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Smith.

At Leslie’s request, there will be no services.

The Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn is handling the arrangements.
