Funeral services will follow visitation at 5 p.m. Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Marjorie Joan Facemyer, 88, of New Bethlehem went home with Jesus on November 25, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Born on April 19, 1936, in Distant, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Grace (Shumaker) Bowser. She retired from the New Bethlehem Bank after many years of service. Joan was a lifetime member of the Oakland Church of God. She loved singing solos, duets, and trios in the choir. She played the piano and organ for 70 plus years. She attended Whitehall in Emlenton all her life. She was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Fervent Prayer group. She and her husband Frank along with Buck and Willie Shumaker toured with World Conferences of the Church of God, visiting fourteen different countries. She even got to play the piano in Italy at one of the conferences. She loved to travel, go camping, shopping, cooking/baking, and spending time with her family and friends. She so loved, going to church, Pastor Jimmy and Anthony and all the church members, and especially singing Happy Birthday to Alex. She is survived by her husband Frank Facemyer of New Bethlehem whom she married on August 30, 1956, also surviving are three children, Phillip Facemyer and his wife, Linda, of Clearwater, Florida, Elizabeth McCullough and Melissa Facemyer, both of New Bethlehem, six grandchildren, Matthew Shick (Rose), Justin Shick, Austin McCullough, Colleen McCullough, Sabrina Glover (Albert), Angela Harmon (Jeff), seven great-grandchildren, Dylan Shick, Savannah Shick, Bradley Locke, Jennifer Gadomski, Maleah Harmon, Kiley Harmon, and Brayden Harmon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings and their spouses, brother Roger Bowser and his wife, Thelma, and sister, Evelyn Wiant and her husband, Bill. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Oakland Church of God in Distant. Funeral services will follow visitation at 5 p.m. with Pastor Jimmy Swogger officiating. Interment will take place in the Oakland Cemetery in Distant.
