Mary Ann Keener, 79, of Kittanning and formerly of Hawthorn, having completed the days the Lord had for her (Psalm 90:12), died on Tuesday morning, December 10, 2024, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

Born on April 12, 1945, in Hawthorn, she was the daughter of the late Daniel V. and Laura L. (Holben) Getty.

She was married on August 25, 1961, to William James Keener and he preceded her in death on September 17, 2014.

Mary was a Brownie leader, Girl Scout leader, taught Sunday School, held 5 Day Clubs and Good News Clubs for children at her home, and belonged to Christian Women’s Club. She always provided a loving home to her family.

She was the best mom, grandma, and great grandma to three children, Lisa Cox and her husband, Rob of Kittanning, Tamara “Tammy” Mook of Venango, and William Scott Keener of Kittanning, five grandchildren, Michael (Samantha) Cox, Matthew (Yanelvis) Cox, Benjamin (Samantha) Mook, Carissa Moser, and Lennea (Josh) Shrock, and seven great grandchildren, Maximilian, Willow, Uriah, Dahlia, Jeremiah, Logan, and Noah.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel V. Getty, Jr.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Isaac John officiating.

Interment will be in the Hawthorn Cemetery.
