Mary Jane Hetrick, 89, of Putneyville, passed away early Thursday morning, April 4, 2024, at the Ridge at Heritage Meadows in Ford City. Born on July 27, 1934, in Putneyville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Rosalee (Nolf) Crissman.

She was married on February 25, 1951, to George “Sam” Hetrick and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2022.

Mary Jane retired from Owens Illinois in Clarion. She loved knitting, spending time with her family, and enjoyed watching steeler games. She had a strong faith in the Lord and went to church when she was able.

She is survived by a son, Ronald Hetrick and his wife, Pauline, three grandchildren, Michael (Becky) Truitt, Amanda (Brock) Smith, and Angela (Justin) Stewart, five great grandchildren, Matthew Truitt, Samantha Truitt, Malachi Stewart, Cain Stewart, and Bella Stewart, and three brothers, Robert Crissman, Richard Crissman, and John Crissman.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda (Hetrick) Truitt. And six sisters, Alice, Laura, Hazel, Emma-Jean, Lavina, and Margaret.

Funeral services will be private.

Interment will take place in the Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery in Goheenville, Armstrong County.
