Obituaries

Norma Jane Troup, 93, of New Bethlehem, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

Born on September 30, 1931, in Hawthorn, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Buena (Reddinger) Hartzell.

She married Donald K. Troup on November 5, 1951. He preceded her in death on June 1, 2004.

Norma was a member of the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church where she was a deacon and on the worship committee. She was a former member of Eastern Star and enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, playing bridge, and feeding and watching the birds. She also helped her husband at their businesses of Sabil Supply and Value Village.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Norma was preceded in death by two brothers and their wives, Leroy and Arabelle Hartzell and Bert and Adalene Hartzell, and a sister and her husband, Lois and Joe O’Brien.

Survivors include nieces, Bertie Lynn Moore and Karen Cauffield and nephews, Frank Hartzell, Hardy Hartzell, and Fred Hartzell.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Jack Gareis officiating.

Interment will take place in the Hawthorn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, the New Bethlehem Area Free Public Library, or the New Bethlehem Fire Company.
