Robert W. Shaffer, 51, of Shippenville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday morning, October 24, 2015 at the Clarion Hospital. Born December 6, 1963 in Punxsutawney, he was the son of Robert L. and Eleanor L. (Colwell) Shaffer.

Bob worked as a car salesman for many years, before opening and co-owning Wolf’s Auto Outlet in Shippenville and Dubois in 1998. For the next 18 years he managed all aspects of the sales process, including the purchasing of the inventory, advertising, and overseeing the sales force. He loved selling cars and had almost 30 years in sales.

Bob was hard working, fun loving, and very kind hearted, a great dad, son, brother, co-worker, and a very special uncle to fifteen nieces and nephews. He was always willing to help wherever he could. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends at his residence for holidays and other celebrations. His compassion for all and vitality for life, will leave a great void for those who were priviledged to know him.

He is survived by, a daughter, Kaitlyn Marie Shaffer, a student at West Chester University, West Chester, Pa., his mother, Eleanor Shaffer of Knox, four sisters, Debra Highland of Chicora, Sheila Lessner and her husband Gary of Petrolia, Nancy Hummel and her husband Jim of Summerville, and Christy Mitchell and her husband Doug of Canton, CT, several nieces and nephews, and a dear friend Laura McCleary of Shippenville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Shaffer.

Friends will be received Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at the funeral home with Jeffrey P. Hodgson officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
