I knew Steve when we worked together at Nortel back in the late 80s, he was my supervisor at the Captive Office lab in Morrisville (400 Perimeter Park. He was the only supervisor that I had out of a lot of them that gave me a commendable evaluation. During this time he related a story about how he won the persident\'s award when he was installing a dms-10S in Alaska. The Telco there had to use a snow mobile to get the switch to the site & it would not start, so Steve with his knownledge on such things fixed their snow mobile & they were able to complete the install. Talking about going above & beyond, but that was the way Steve was & that is why I had had a lot of respect for him. He was also a good friend outside work as well. I can remember times he invited over to his house by Jordan Lake to drink beers & talk about all the things we both injoyed & just having fun & laughs. I will always rememeber Steve in this way. May God rest your soul my friend.

Karen and Family, It was so nice to meet you a few weeks ago and see Steve. As I tried to Express to you and Steve he is a good man and done so so so so much for my career with DMS10 at Nortel which lead to this gig at Centurylink. He taught me so much and we were friends over the phone for years and years, then we finally met in 1996 in person and off to PA he went. That's OK though... I felt an overwhelming need to come visit so I did. So many people at Northern Telecom/Nortel Networks were like family, it's amazing to me how them were the days and we didn't even know it. But we loved every moment. Steve will be missed greatly. I got my Sun Shower and he has kissed the face of Jesus. Steve had a great Big Heart, but I don't have to tell you that. I am so sorry for your loss and Steve loved you all Dearly. God Bless you all

My condolences go out to Steve's entire family. Steve and I were good friends back in the Nortel days and we spent many of days on the road together installing equipment. We also enjoyed a lot of the same things like fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles after he moved to Raleigh. I know he will be missed. Rest in peace Red Man.

I met Steve in in the early 80s while working as installers in Texas. Then we worked together in RTP, NC for many years. He's a great guy willing to help anyone that asked. I can't count the number of times he worked tirelessly on emergency projects to ensure a successful outcome. He has that spirit people admire and he didn't break his code of honor for anything. He had a place near Jordan Lake where many days were spent with many co-workers and friends enjoying Steve's generous hospitality. There are so many great memories of his antics and fun nature. There is only one Steve and I am grateful to have known him. Until we meet again my friend.

It is with heavy heart that I receive the news of my friend. It makes me all the more happy that I stopped in for a visit while we were able to enjoy each others company. Steve and I worked together at many Nortel job sites and had a great time as \"young\'ins\" as he would have called us today, working on the road. May God bless Steve on his journey home and also the family. He will be missed.
