Wayne Howard King, 75, of Templeton PA (Madison Twp Armstrong County) died Saturday April 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, after a battle with heart failure.

Wayne was born November 8, 1949, to Howard W. and Evelyn L. (Hetrick) King in Kellersburg PA. They preceded him in death.

When he was a toddler, his parents moved the family, which included an older sister Glenda, to what became the Heffner-King Roundtop Farms in Mayport PA (Armstrong Co.) There the family grew, thrived, loved hard and worked hard to manage a dairy herd for many, many years. Wayne also drove fuel truck for Heffner brothers before finding his niche working for Reddinger Coal Company driving 18-wheelers and where he later became a heavy equipment operator for them, retiring after many years of service.

Wayne had a great sense of humor. He was a people person and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. For the past twenty-plus years, Wayne and his family have enjoyed operating games at the Peanut Butter and Rural Valley Festivals.

He, along with the family, operated the Stumble Inn, which he rented out for occasions such as reunions, graduation parties, and more. He loved working with wood and for several years constructed and sold decorative items for the home. He also loved the outdoors, hunting, riding horses, exploring the woods. But his greatest joys were working alongside his son and other family members at the Inn and watching his daughter at her college volleyball games.

Wayne will be deeply missed by his son, Randall Wayne King of New Bethlehem, his daughter Taylor Michelle King of New Bethlehem and his best friend in life, Linda (Williams) King of Ford City, sisters, Glenda Cornman of Kittanning, Ruth King, of Strattanville, Arlene (Jerry) Griebel of Lucinda, brothers, Bert King (Dorothy) of New Bethlehem, and Lynn (Nancy) King of Kittanning and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn.

A celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
