Aldo James Veronesi, 88, of Seminole, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, May 24, 2015, at the Back to Basics Home in Dayton. Born on October 20, 1926 in Seminole, he was the son of the late Peter and Giulia (Saiani) Veronesi. He was married on August 31, 1957 to Olive T. (Bashline).

Aldo was a Postmaster in Seminole for 48 years. He was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in New Bethlehem.

He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Olive T. Veronesi of Seminole, four children; Phyllis Miller and her husband Terry of Indiana, Anna Donato and her husband Michael of Hawthorn, Dr. Peter Veronesi of Holley, New York, and Joseph Veronesi and his fiance Marcie of Seminole, six grandchildren; Maria Miller of Johnstown, Samuel Miller of Indiana, Houston Donato of Hawthorn, Giulia Donato of Pittsburgh, Gabrielle Veronesi and Jereme Wynkoop both of Seminole, one sister, Emma Spanedda and her husband John of Wayne, New Jersey, and one brother, Milton Veronesi and his wife Lois of Seminole.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Radaker and Jenny Veronesi and six brothers; Geno, Guido, Charles, Eddie, George and Frank Veronesi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 9 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. A Prayer Vigil Service will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 pm at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 11:00 am at the St. Charles Catholic Church in New Bethlehem with Rev. Father Sam Bungo officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Distant.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to the St. Charles Catholic Church, 201 Washington St. New Bethlehem, Pa. 16242.
