Annette L. Smith, 54 of Rimersburg, died on Monday, April 7, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born on May 4, 1959 in Brookville and was the daughter of Harlow M. and Helen M. (Stadelmyer) Packard, Jr.

Annette graduated from Redbank Valley High School in 1977 and from Clarion State College in 1981. She taught at Steubenville High School in Ohio and at Nature’s Classroom in Connecticut. She also worked in Connecticut for the Episcopal Camp and Conference Center. She worked at the Clarion Clipper restaurant and Sally Beauty Supply. She was a Clinic Manager and Certified Lactation Counselor for the WIC Program in Clarion. She was a Eucharistic Minister and attended St. Richards Catholic Church in Rimersburg since 1987. She also was a PTO past treasurer and president of Union Elementary Schools. She enjoyed reading, weaving, sewing, traveling, shopping and collecting Pepsi items. She was very active in her children’s extracurricular actives.

She is survived by a son, Jedediah J. Smith of Fort Knox, Kentucky; two daughters, Caitlin E. Smith and Gabrielle N. Smith both of Rimersburg; three sisters, Marilyn J. Mitchell and her husband Lee of Erie, C. Jean Miller and her husband Roger of New Bethlehem, and Margaret Packard of Greensburg; and a brother-in-law, Larry Snyder and his wife Chris of Pittsburgh.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents and a sister, Susan I. (Packard) Snyder

Visitation will be on Friday, April 11, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 9 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. A Prayer Vigil Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 12, at 11:00 am at the St. Charles Catholic Church in New Bethlehem with Rev. Father Sam Bungo officiating. Interment will be at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in New Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to the Annette L. Smith Memorial Fund at S & T Bank in New Bethlehem.
