Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Eugene E. Gruber, 84, of Patterson, New York, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at the Danbury Hospital in Connecticut. Born on April 13, 1933 in Wilkinsburg, Pa. Allegheny County, he was the son of the late Eugene and Mildred (Brennen) Gruber. He was married to Dorothy (Young) Gruber and she survives. He served his country with the US Army from 1953 to 1955. He worked as a senior scientist for Argonne National Laboratories. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shannondale with Pastor Harold Jacobson officiating. Immediately following the funeral service the Walter W. Craig Post American Legion #354 of New Bethlehem will honor their fallen comrade.
