Share your Memorial with Family & Friends

To the Rutkowski family, your Dad was a good friend and colleague to my Father, Bill Worrell. They shared many fishing trips and hunting expectations outside of school. My deepest sympathy to all of you. May all the great memories of Gene, give you comfort in the days ahead, Their generation gave a lot of themselves to our nation, family and their students. Gods blessings to you all. Thea Worrell Nixon

I forgot my gym shoes one day during gym glass. Gene had the fix ... always. He soon obtained a loaner (size 17 shoe I think) and I was not going to sit out of class because of my forgetfulness. No sir. It was embarrassing to say the least. It got lots and lots of laughs from my classmates. I never forgot my shoes again. He did not do it to be cruel although I am sure he enjoyed the teaching moment. It turned out I was not the only one to forget one piece of garment from time to time. To that we all shared in this ritual of sorts. I was able to copy is voice after awhile and would use it to surprise an unsuspecting classmate that was goofing off: "Drop and give me 25!" I'd bark. Only one time he caught me imitating him....his immediate response: "FOSTER, DROP AND GIVE ME 50!" I think ol' Gene liked me. Some great memories.

To Hoodie and the entire Rutkowski family, our hearts go out to you and we are so sorry for your loss. I met Hoodie 27 years ago when I worked at Head Start. She was the best boss I ever had! I met Gene through her, although my husband Terry had known him having him as a teacher in high school. But I was amazed at the life he and Hoodie had built for themselves and their family. I am proud to have known Hoodie and Gene. May God give you strength at this time Hoodie! Love, Suzan & Terry Noerr and family

To the family of Gene Ruthowski; Your husband / father will always be remembered by so many. A loving husband, father that I knew. Since leaving New Bethlehem, you became a grandfather and great grandfather. A hard worker, someone who knew right from wrong and cared for his loved ones unmercifully. Never saw you just stop Mr. R. So many memories of growing up across the street from your family. You led a wonderful life Mr. R. So now that your time upon this earth has ended, your life will be celebrated and you will never be forgotten.
