Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, October 17,  2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and Tuesday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Hawthorn Church of the Nazarene, with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m.

Janet D. Bish, 68, of Hawthorn, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a nine month battle with leukemia, on Saturday morning, October 15, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on September 6, 1948 in Brookville, she was a daughter of the late William Lewis and Margaret Nelle (Houser) Keth.

All who knew her loved her dearly, even those who just met her. Her legacy of love, faith and cooking will be passed on to her family and the lives of the many people she touched. She worked as a Head Start bus driver for 28 years and was loved by hundreds of children throughout the community. She was an active member of the Hawthorn Church of the Nazarene for 50 years. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Tanti and her husband, George of Cassadaga, New York, a son, Allan Bish and his wife Jaime of (Distant) New Bethlehem, three grandchildren, Ciara Irons and her husband, Tim of New Bethlehem, Amber Shreckengost and her friend, Andrew Danielson of Strattanville, and Collin Bish of New Bethlehem, a sister, Carol Leathem and her husband, Patrick of Brookville, two brothers, Larry Keth and his wife, Karen Diane of Rossiter and Ricky Keth and his wife, Shelley of Archdale, North Carolina, and her ex-husband, B. James Bish of Mayport.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, David William Keth.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. There also will be visitation on Tuesday October 18, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Hawthorn Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Lois Moranville officiating. Interment will be in the Hawthorn Cemetery.
