Richard John White, 76, of New Bethlehem (Distant), died Sunday morning, April 1, 2018, at the Clarion Hospital. Born on July 1, 1941 in Distant, he was the son of the late Robert William and Edith Alverda (Kunselman) White.

He was married on November 9, 1974 to Debbi L. (Shick) White.

Mr. White worked as a supervisor for the Pennsylvania Game Commission game farm for 37 1/2 years. He loved to be on his tractor mowing. He mowed the Oakland Cemetery, Mt. Zion Cemetery, Leatherwood Cemetery, and Eddyville Cemetery. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Pirate fan. He enjoyed golfing and watching college sports.

He is survived by his wife of over 43 years, Debbi L. White of Distant, two children, Shane R. White and his wife Ashley of New Bethlehem and Bridget White of Distant, three grandchildren, Quinn, Kennedy, and Connor White, three sisters, Nancy Schaeffer and her husband Harry of Ford City, Betty Wright of Saxonburg, and Cheryl Crissman and her husband George of Distant and a brother Ralph White and his wife Alice of Distant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Thomas White and Benjamin W. White, and his in-laws, Darl and June Bish.

A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in New Bethlehem on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jodie Smith and Pastor Bud Davis co-officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Distant.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church at 234 Penn St. New Bethlehem, Pa. 16242.

The Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn is handling the arrangements.
