Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Sophia Batina, 90, of Brookville, died Friday, November 18, 2016 at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital. Born December 7, 1925 in Timblin, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Sophia (Miholich) Batina. Sophia did housework and chores for several families in the Punxsutawney area. She is survived by a sister, Barbara J. Facemyer of Canfield, Ohio, and a brother, Joseph J. Batina of Warren, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, John and Nicholas Batina, and five sisters, Annie Maietta, Agnes Muia, Frances Hetrick, Mary Maxwell and Rose Batina. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn, with Reverend Father Samuel Bungo, serving as celebrant.
