Wayne M. Wadding
February 14, 1935-October 25, 2025
Wayne M. Wadding, 90, of Curllsville, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home on October 25, 2025. Born on February 14, 1935, in Tidal, Pennsylvania, Wayne lived a full and faithful life marked by devotion to his family, his country, and his Lord.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Janet Wadding; his daughter Sheila Kriebel of Curllsville; sons Arnie (Wendy) Wadding of SC and Keith (Missi) Wadding of Limestone; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Shirley Harmon of Mayport, Dorothy Dunlap of Rockford, Alabama and Beverly Wadding of Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ethel Wadding; his brothers, Kenneth and Arnold Wadding; and his son, Douglas Wadding.

Wayne was a proud veteran of the United States Army and spent his life working with his hands and heart-as a farmer raising beef cattle on his Curllsville farm, steel worker and welder at Pullman in Butler, truck driver and a dedicated school bus driver for 52 years. His work ethic and humility were only matched by his deep faith. Wayne was a lifelong servant of the Lord and a long-standing member of the Distant Baptist Church.

An avid outdoorsman, Wayne found joy in hunting and fishing and was a member of the Clarion County Campers Club for over 40 years. He was well known for his storytelling, sense of humor, and the way he could brighten any room with his quick wit and kind spirit. If looking for Wayne, you could always find him having a conversation with a complete stranger he happened to meet in his travels.

Visitation will be held at Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn, Pennsylvania on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at the Distant Baptist Church on Tuesday October 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Westover officiating.

A graveside service will follow on Tuesday at the Churchville Cemetery at 2 p.m. with the Walter W. Craig Post #354 of New Bethlehem American Legion honoring their fallen comrade.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Churchville Cemetery Association c/o Sheila Kriebel, 106 Tintown Road, Sligo, PA 16255.
