Helen R. Bish, 80 of New Bethlehem (Eddyville), passed peacefully at her home on Tuesday afternoon, January 5, 2016. Born on December 6, 1935 in Armstrong County, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Edna G. (Dinger) Kespelher. On August 3, 1957, she married William A. Bish and he preceded her in death on December 1, 1997.

Helen graduated from Shannock Valley High School. She was a member of the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Eddyville. She worked at various jobs including Rola Jensen and the New Bethlehem Rite Aid. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed being outside and spending time with her loved ones on the family farm in Eddyville.

She is survived by a daughter, Diana Brown and her husband Michael of Clarion, a step daughter, Karen Grosch and her husband Lee of Clarion, three granddaughters, Cari Harmon and her husband James of Karns City, Erin Hunsberger and her husband Marc of Shippenville, and Moira Shingledecker and her husband Daniel of Clarion, a step granddaughter, Stephanie Williams and her husband Henson of Baltimore, Maryland, five great grandchildren, Brennan, Daniel, Allana, Brynn and Ruthie, two step great grandchildren, Lily and Logan, and one brother, George W. Kespelher and his wife Vicki of Sulphur, Louisianna. Helen is also survived by a dear companion, Ted Kline of Rimersburg, and his three daughters, Sissie Rutkowski and her husband Gary of Rimersburg, Shirley Trefelner of Pittsburgh, and Shelly Kammerdiener and her husband Shawn of Sarver, and their families and her beloved dog, Cokie.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Helen was also preceded in death by two brothers, Howard G. Kespelher and Fred A. Kespelher and a sister-in-law, Sylvia J. Kespelher.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 9:30 am at the funeral home with Pastor Arlene Schweitzer officiating. Interment will be in the Eddyville Cemetery, Mahoning Township, Armstrong County.
