Kathryn Mae Wolfe, affectionately known as Kathy, was born on March 11, 1947, to the union of Murray Jacob Shaffer and Mary Ellen Crawford in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.

Kathy received her formal education at Redbank Valley High School in New Bethlehem, PA. She later became a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Pelham, Alabama.

Kathy worked as a pharmacy technician for 12 years, serving customers with care and professionalism at Eckerd and Harco pharmacies.

In her leisure time, Kathy enjoyed crocheting, coin collecting, and thrift shopping. She especially cherished time spent with her friends. She was an active member of the Pelham Senior Center, the Alabaster Senior Center, and a committed Shelby County volunteer.

Kathryn Mae Wolfe was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Ardell Wolfe, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Malcolm Ardell Wolfe, Jr., Russell Alan Wolfe, and James Edward Wolfe; her beloved grandchildren: Malcolm Ardell Wolfe III, Cathrine Elizabeth Wolfe, Steven James Christensen, and Wesley James Wolfe. She is also survived by her dear brother, Elbert Homer Shaffer (Carolyn Jean Shaffer), and a special family friend, Betsy Voyles, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Kathy’s legacy of kindness, service, and warmth will live on in all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, June 12, from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm.

Graveside services will be held at Kellersburg Luhteran Cemetery in Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 14, at 4:00 pm.

Burial will follow at Kellersburg Cemetery.

The Alcorn Funeral Home is handling the local arrangements.
