Obituaries

Mary L. Chestnut, 82, of New Bethlehem, died late Wednesday evening, November 13, 2019 at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Shippenville. Born on February 16, 1937 in Colwell, Armstrong County, she was the daughter of the late Forrest, Sr. and Helen (LaBorde) Rearick.

Mary worked at the Nu-Be Garment factory, the Brookville Glove Co., as a waitress, and in later years as a caregiver.

She is survived by three children, Carol Clinger (Jeff), George Chestnut, Jr. (Christina Ryan), both of New Bethlehem, LuAnn Harriger (Terry) of Hawthorn, six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two sisters, Carol Wiant and Diana Gruver (Den), both of New Bethlehem, and three brothers, Randall Rearick (Liz), Forrest Rearick, Jr., (Nancy), both of Distant, and John Rearick of Corsica.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Toni Clinger and Jackie Clinger, and a brother, Frank Rearick.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 17, 2019, from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Lyle Westover officiating. Interment will be in the Squirrel Hill Cemetery, Porter Township, Clarion County.
